Was that the actual movie?
A review of Weekday Service
by Drew Lindo

Oh look, it’s a new Dastoli Digital short. Oh wait, it’s one of their mini-shorts, the kind that evaporate on your tongue like a breath strip, except without the resonance of fresh breath. I’m going to have to group most of their latest, mini-shorts together in the “interesting concept” category, as most of them have interesting setup, and a complete lack of payoff.

Weekday Service is a silent short in which a man (Diego Kontarovsky) is continually shamed by a billboard model who always finds herself in more comfortable climates than he.

That’s all I can say without giving anything away. What should have been a build to a satisfying, and hilarious climax to this psychological comedy, is instead, a wasted gag that falls flat. One wishes that the talents of Kontarovsky and Ms. Sanchez were more fully utilized at the conclusion.

But hey, at least it looks good, right?

THE GOOD: Casting, effects, scene transitions (nice bus.)

THE BAD: An under whelming ending that makes the entire short feel like a waste of time.

THE DASTOLI: 2 out of 5 Dastolis. A wasted opportunity for a clever little film.
